Jefferson Betancourt

Jefferson Betancourt is Managing Director of Debt Advisory, where he leads financing engagements for manufactured housing communities and RV resorts nationwide, from initial loan structuring through underwriting, lender negotiation, and closing. He advises owners and investors on the right capital solution for each situation, whether an acquisition, refinance, or recapitalization, and places debt across agency, CMBS, bridge, bank, and life company lenders. Jefferson brings over 13 years of credit and capital markets experience to Yale.

Prior to joining the firm, he served as Vice President of M&A at Schoolwise Partners, where he led the end-to-end execution of 17 transactions representing roughly $300 million in enterprise value. Before that, he worked in the Investment Banking Division at Credit Suisse as an Associate in the Financial Sponsors Group, where he managed the execution of over $2 billion in leveraged finance transactions for private equity-backed companies. Jefferson began his career in commercial banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, TD Bank, and BB&T, underwriting and managing credit for middle-market borrowers across both operating businesses and commercial real estate.

He holds an MBA from Cornell University, a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Connecticut, and a BBA in Finance from the University of Florida, and is a native Spanish speaker. Outside of work, Jefferson enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is an avid runner and recently completed the Miami Marathon.
